It is Wednesday, May 14th. And I just wanted to do a very quick post about four big things we have happening right now. So the first one, we have Absolute Batman #8 out in stores today. This is the second part of our Mr. Freeze arc. It's the finale and it sets up everything coming. So it's got a big cliffhanger. You get to see Mr. Freeze be creepy as fuck. We’re really excited about the design. We’re excited about the take on him. I can’t say enough good things about Marcos Martín, a legend in comics and a fantastic partner on this issue. So I hope you’ll check it out.
And while you're at the store, absolutely order Absolute Batman #9. Monday is the very last day you can order it. So while you're there buying #8, order #9.
We're doing this really unconventional thing. DC is letting us send the issue early, in digital form, to retailers across the country today inside of the DC newsletter that goes out to retailers in the afternoon. So your retailer will have access to the issue early. They will hopefully have read it. And it's got tons of surprises in it. Bane has a whole new look and design. But on top of that, he's got surprises in his history. And it's also the debut of a couple characters that I think people will be very excited about that we've tried to keep really under wraps. So there's all of that. There's a glimpse inside of Ark M, which has another brand new take. It's really a special issue for us. And again, it launches the second big mega arc with Nick. And we haven't said this yet. So this is a big spoiler, but it's called Abomination. And I'm going to put the title page right here in this newsletter via Tyler, the best assistant in the world.
We're very, very excited about it. So that's the second thing. Order Absolute Batman #9, the beginning of our big Bane arc, when you go pick up Absolute Batman #8, the finale of our Mr. Freeze arc.
Third thing, we have class tomorrow night. I'm really, really excited about this one too. It's comic book fundamentals. I'm going really nuts and bolts. So if you have any interest in writing monthly comics, this one is going to be a key class.
One of these anchor classes, like three-act structure, characterization. It's a real core, core lesson. It's actually the metric that I bring when I consult with DC about series alongside Joshua Williamson when we consult about books in the line. Really essential lesson stuff. And the fourth thing is I will be at Philly Comic Con this coming weekend, but just for one day. I'm only going for Saturday. I'm driving down. I'm waking up at five in the morning, driving down at six. I'm going to spend the whole day there and then drive back that night because we have crazy stuff happening with our kids right noww for end of the year, The 18 year old has prom and graduation. The five year old has his school play. He's Captain Hook in Peter Pan. We have a ton of stuff. So I can only manage the one day, but I can't wait to go down. I'm there with brother Greg Capullo. And we're going to be doing this special VIP Greg Scott experience.
We only do it a couple of times a year. I hope you'll check it out. There are a few tickets left, I think? I don't think it's sold out yet.
