WHAT IS BEST JACKETT? To put it simply, Best Jackett is my own creative studio and it’s where I’m going to be working for the foreseeable future. It’s an engine for all the creator-owned books I’m writing for myself, and for books I’m helping produce by friends and up-and-coming creators. Yes, well said, this is exactly how I am and I am sure several others are feeling. I have been reading, collecting, watching, and enjoying for over 30 years now and have always had my own ideas or takes on stuff. I just recently decided to actually try writing some of them, and I'm excited about the timing of you making BJP a reality because it re-affirms that now is as good a time as any to make it happen. Fantastic! Really excited for all to come. I actually have a very cool memory of bumping into you at Target. You actually recognized me from seeing one another at 4th World. I will never forget you asked me “what if Batman and Two Face took a road trip”? I was very enthusiastic since no one ever tried that before. Few years later and All-Star hit. It felt really cool. We never did get to do that podcast spot though! Anyhow, extremely excited for the future of Best Jackett!!
Hi Scott! Long time fan since American Vampire! I am thrilled to see you have a personal portal to communicate with us! I joined last night after discovering Best Jackett Press through random searching the internet! I am at the early stage of creating a story I plan to turn into a comic. Looking forward to your words of wisdom, guests and everything you make!
I love everything you've said and can't wait to learn more. And as for adding a Q to the title, might I suggest Jacquett? It's a little French, but I think it works!
A couple of online comic stores or blogs, I have seen classify Nocterra as 'Superhero', the genre, and that did feel not as on point to me, for this series. As awesome of a protagonist that Val is, I appreciate that it's about the greater world and lore of Nocterra, not just centered on one superhero-type character. And on that note, I have been appreciating the few variant covers that are peppered in that don't feature Val at all; It balances out, nicely.
