Newsletter #225: A Triple Dose of Absolute Batman

Plus a re-opening of the Black Jackett Club!

Hey guys, it’s Scott.

And I just wanted to do a super quick video reminding you of three things. Sorry, it’s a snow day here. First, Monday is the Final Order Cut-Off for Absolute Batman #16.

This is our guest star issue of Absolute Wonder Woman. It’s a two-part crossover, but each one is standalone. You can read them both or you could read them separately. Kelly and Hayden’s issue is fantastic. Absolute Wonder Woman #15 comes out really soon.

Ours is Absolute Batman #16. Really, really proud of it. So Final Order Cut-Off Monday along with Absolute Batman 10th printing of #1 which I cannot wrap my head around, but thank you.

And the new printing of the Absolute Batman Annual by Daniel Warren Johnson and James Harren and Meredith McLaren. So excited to see you guys sold that out.

Two, we’re going to be reopening the Black Jackett Club, which is the top tier of Our Best Jackett, where you get to meet with me individually once a month and show me work. I have no business doing this anymore, but I love it. I won’t give it up. We haven’t opened it in a couple of years, so I know there have been a lot of requests for it and we can’t really put it off any longer. So we’re going to do it Friday at noon Eastern for just a very short time because we can really barely handle any more at all. So if you really want to do it, just be ready to sign up at noon (and for all current Black Jackett members, info on the 2026 meeting slots and sending books through the mail to be signed will be going out early next week).

And also I wanted to remind people, as a third thing, that an annual subscription to Our Best Jackett (totally self-interested, but I love teaching) is only $75 for the whole year. And that includes our class, Comic Writing 101, which has over 30 classes, interviews with people like Greg Capullo, Mark Waid, Kelly Thompson, the whole pantheon of comic stars, but also does really intense craft and business subjects about what it’s like to write comics.

Here’s an individual breakdown of all the different Comic Writing classes we’ve had so far or are planning on offering:

So again, for just $75, we should really raise the price, but we do not want to do it. You can get it. So thank you guys so much. And yeah, appreciate it!
